As with every other public safety and healthcare agency, we are not immune to the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for our personnel due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. While we are currently in a position where we have adequate equipment to cover our personnel, we recognize the fact that our supplies will reach a point very soon where our providers would be put at risk.
Trying to keep ahead of the curve, we’ve put in orders to try to get additional PPE. Due to the shortage and uncertainty of receiving supplies in a timely manner, we’re also reaching out to the public for donations of any PPE for our providers to use. Specifically what we’re looking for would be any of the following:
N95 or KN95 Masks
Surgical or Procedure Masks
Isolation Gowns or Tyvex Suits
Safety Goggles or Glasses
Handmade Cloth Surgical Masks (OSF Healthcare has created a great tutorial for sewing these at https://tinyurl.com/osfmask)
If you have any materials that you would like to donate to our department, please reach out to us by e-mail at email@example.com, by Facebook Messenger, or by phone at 309-686-2377. One of our personnel will reach out to you to schedule a time where they can meet you at the station to take possession of any supplies you’re willing to donate.
