Residential Structure Fire – 902 E Paris Ave

Residential Structure Fire
902 E Paris Ave

At approximately 7:41PM yesterday (February 11th), our department was notified of a possible house fire at this address. While crews were en-route, the Peoria Heights Police Department arrived on scene and reported heavy fire from the rear of the structure. Command 600 arrived on scene shortly after to find heavy fire from the southwest corner of the building that was beginning to extend to the garage. Engine 653 and Peoria IL Fire Department Engine 10 arrived shortly after and stretched lines onto the fire to extinguish the blaze, which was complicated by access issues into the building and access to fire that was deep seated in materials. Peoria Heights crews were assisted by additional crews from Peoria IL Fire DepartmentWest Peoria Fire Protection District, and Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District with ventilation and overhaul activities. Advanced Medical Transport provided an ambulance to stand by for any injuries and to assist with rehab of firefighters. The house was extensively damaged, but no injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported. The cause of this fire is still under investigation and remains undetermined at this time.
